Traces of Transformation

June 21, 2024

4:00pm ~ 6:00pm

Exciting for 2025, York & Main proudly presents an art exhibition that is set to inspire and engage the community.

The "Traces of Transformation" show invites you to consider the artists' interpretation of the ways in which time, natural forces, and human actions transform materials and leave lasting impressions on the landscape and our understanding of place.

The exhibition's work explores the tangible and intangible remnants of change, from the physical alterations of materials to the conceptual shifts in perception and memory.

The artworks consider how materials transform over time, how human actions leave traces, and how memories and experiences shape our understanding of place, particularly in relation to the unique environment of Gloucester, VA, and the surrounding Tidewater region.
