Everything you need to know about becoming a Patron

For the ninth year, The Cook Foundation and the Gloucester Arts Festival Committee invite you to this monthlong cultural event, including Plein Air Week. Beginning on June 6th, 30 of the nation’s most esteemed Plein Air artists will paint along our rivers and in our countryside to create the 2025 Heart of the River Collection.

We invite you to become a Platinum Patron for 2025 and enjoy exclusive opportunities. Whether you’re new to collecting art or a long-time enthusiast, there are many ways to start or grow your collection. Small works created on location at Machicomico during Brews, Brine & Wine, as well as at the fast-paced Paint Main—where artists capture Main Street in just two hours—and other events throughout the week, all culminate at the Plein Air Gala on June 14th at the Fine Arts Museum of Gloucester (FAMG).

A Platinum Patron Ticket is $500 for two people and includes a $500 credit toward buying a painting at either of these Platinum Patron-exclusive events:

• Patron Preview Party (June 12 at Dixondale Wharf on the North River): Meet the artists and learn about their inspirations while enjoying delicious food and cocktails under the tent overlooking the North River. As a Patron, you’ll also have an early opportunity to purchase artwork ahead of the lottery at the Plein Air Gala, giving you first choice of these incredible pieces.

• Plein Air Gala (June 14 at FAMG): Enjoy an elegant evening at the Museum where art, culture, and community come together in perfect harmony. As you arrive, you’re greeted with a glass of chilled bubbly while the gentle hum of live music fills the air. Tables adorned with twinkling candles and fresh floral arrangements set the scene while guests mingle and savor gourmet hors d’oeuvres and an oyster bar, all paired with wines and cocktails, including a martini bar. The 150 stunning Plein Air paintings, created throughout the week by gifted artists who captured the beauty of the surrounding landscapes, are the highlight of the evening as prizes recognizing the artists’ incredible talents are announced. In 2025, we’re returning to our true lottery system, giving every Patron an equal chance at the #1 pick! The excitement builds as names are drawn, with each Platinum Patron stepping forward to claim the painting that speaks to them. Patrons pay the difference between the purchase price and their credit of $500.

• Because your $500 can be applied to a painting purchase, your entry to both events is essentially free!
