Symphony Under The Stars
Attention music lovers! We welcome you to join us on June 1st for the Symphony Under the Stars FREE Family Concert, celebrating its 18th year making music accessible to everyone!
The concert by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra is touted as one of the most anticipated events of the year in the community, drawing well over a thousand families and community members to Main Street for an evening of great food and music. The evening will begin at 6pm with a performance by Gloucester’s very own Liberty Dolls!

Symphony Under the Stars is co-sponsored and supported in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, which receives support from the Virginia General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Presented by The Cook Foundation, the Gloucester Arts Festival started as a week-long event in 2017 and has since grown into a month-long celebration each June. Bringing together artists of varying mediums, the Gloucester Arts Festival aims to help connect the community to the arts and artists to the natural beauty of Gloucester in rural coastal Virginia. Voted Best of Virginia by Virginia Living magazine, the Gloucester Arts Festival features a Plein Air Painting Event and Show, a free community concert by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, a gala to celebrate the Heart of the River collection curated each year, as well as other special events.
