VMFA Artmobile

Saturday June 13th & Sunday June 14th ~ 10:00am – 5:00pm

VMFA’s state-of-the-art traveling museum and art studio launched in October 2018. The climate-controlled 53-foot Volvo trailer includes Wi-Fi to connect visitors with VMFA educators and interactive components to meet their 21st-century expectations. The main attraction of VMFA on the Road, however, is the opportunity for residents of the Commonwealth to see and experience works of art from the VMFA collection up close. Don’t miss their visit to Gloucester during Village Arts Day as well as on Sunday the 14th.

Chrysler Museum’s Mobile Glass Studio

10:00am – 5:00pm

See Glass Art Live! Expect a lot of fun when the highly-skilled members of the Chrysler Museum Glass Studio team take their talents into the streets. Thanks to a cleverly-crafted mobile studio, people who have never been exposed to the captivating nature of glass art can see the molten magic live and in person.

Edge Hill Open House

10:00am – 5:00pm

Edge Hill House, circa 1750, is a colonial building in Gloucester Court House. John Field raised the two story frame structure onto a brick first floor circa 1833. During its earlier history it was used for mercantile, carriage and wagon building, blacksmithing, dressmaking, and as a dwelling. The Gloucester Woman’s Club, established in 1913, purchased the property as their headquarters in 1920. The club continues to preserve this landmark for the benefit of its members and the community. The house was placed on Virginia’s Landmarks Register in 1973, and the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Gloucester Volunteer Fire & Rescue House Tours

10:00am – 5:00pm

Gloucester Volunteer Fire & Rescue Main Street Station  is the original “fire house” for GVFRS and has been located in the same location on main street since 1946. The latest addition, completed in 1992, provided more than double the station’s truck capacity and at least 3 times the meeting and training room space.  Station 1 houses 3 engines, a 95′ Tower, 1 medium rescue, and 2 medic units.
