Saturday, June 26th
The Gloucester Arts Festival once again welcomes the U.S. Fleet Forces Band to close out the festival in patriotic style on Saturday, June 26th. The concert is free to the public. Known as the “finest of the fleet”, the band is the musical representative for Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, VA. Under the direction of Lt. Gregory Fritz, the band is staffed by some of the U.S. Navy’s finest and most talented musicians.
This year will feature the Pop/Rock U.S. Fleet Forces band. The concert will take place on the lawn at historic Courthouse Circle on Main Street. The Liberty Dolls will open the show at 5pm. Take a Sentimental Journey down nostalgia lane with JJ Rodgers Brazil, Rebecca Hartt and Becky Hogge! These gals are a charming vocal trio who will serenade the crowd with World War II Andrew Sisters classic hits such as Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Rum and Coca-Cola, and Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree (to name a few). They will also perform patriotic classics and add several of the fun 50’s and 60’s standard songs including Mr. Sandman, Sincerely, and Stupid Cupid, and Breaking up is Hard to Do. Their rich 3-part harmony and fun audience interaction will leave you tapping your feet and humming to those great ‘oldies, but goodies!’.
The public is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Dine on Main Street before or after either concert and receive 10% off at participating restaurants.
Plan to join us as we close out our amazing month long arts festival and usher in the celebration of our Country’s independence!
